Bookings
All bookings are subject to availability. A booking is accepted when we confirm it and any required payment has been successfully received.
You are responsible for giving us accurate information, including:
- The delivery and collection address.
- The required skip size.
- Your requested dates.
- The intended placement location.
- Access restrictions or site hazards.
- The type of waste being disposed of.
- Whether placement will be on private land or a public highway.
Incorrect or incomplete information may result in delay, cancellation or an additional charge where we reasonably incur additional costs.
Prices & Payment
Prices shown during the booking process apply to the service and options selected at that time.
Payments made online are processed through Stripe.
Additional charges may arise where:
- Additional hire days are requested.
- Chargeable waste has not been declared.
- A permit is required.
- The skip is overloaded.
- Prohibited material is placed in the skip.
- A delivery or collection cannot be completed because of circumstances at the site.
- Additional services are requested after the original booking.
Any additional charge will be based on the applicable rate for the service or circumstance concerned.
Standard Hire Period & Additional Days
Our standard minimum skip-hire charge is based on a 7-day hire period.
A customer may arrange collection before the end of that period, but the minimum 7-day hire charge will still apply.
Where a skip is required beyond the original hire period, additional-day charges may apply.
The price of additional days can vary depending on the number of additional days requested and the applicable rate for the particular day or period. Current extension pricing will be displayed or confirmed through our website or booking process.
Extensions are subject to availability and should be agreed before the scheduled collection date.
Delivery, Access & Site Conditions
You must provide safe and suitable access for our vehicle to deliver and collect the skip.
You must tell us about anything that may affect access, including narrow roads, parked vehicles, low bridges, gates, overhead cables, scaffolding, soft ground or restricted entrances.
The driver has final discretion as to whether delivery or collection can be completed safely.
We may refuse a placement instruction that our driver reasonably believes is unsafe, unlawful or likely to result in unacceptable damage.
Skip Placement & Property
If the skip is placed on private property, you must have authority to use that land and to instruct us to place the skip there.
Skips and heavy delivery vehicles can mark or damage tarmac, block paving, driveways, kerbs, drainage, lawns and other surfaces.
You are responsible for making sure the proposed surface is suitable for the vehicle and loaded skip.
Where protective materials are used, they reduce risk but cannot guarantee that marking or damage will not occur.
Highway Permits
A permit may be required if a skip is placed on a public highway, road or other council-controlled land.
Where we arrange the permit on your behalf, our current permit charge is £45.
Permit applications are subject to approval by the relevant local authority and we cannot guarantee approval by a particular date.
Delivery may therefore need to wait until the required permit has been approved.
Permit charges are non-refundable, including where the customer subsequently cancels the skip booking, once the permit fee has been incurred or the application has been submitted.
Waste Acceptance
You must tell us what type of waste you intend to dispose of.
Accepted waste
General non-hazardous household, garden and building waste may normally be accepted, subject to the specific guidance provided on our website.
Waste that must be declared
Some waste may be accepted only when declared in advance and may carry an additional charge. Examples may include mattresses, tyres, plasterboard, fridges and freezers.
Prohibited waste
Materials such as asbestos, gas cylinders, batteries, oils, paints, solvents, chemicals and other hazardous waste must not be placed in a standard skip unless we have expressly agreed a suitable alternative service.
If prohibited or undeclared chargeable material is found, we may require its removal, refuse collection until the issue has been corrected or charge reasonable additional handling and disposal costs.
Loading Your Skip
The skip must be loaded safely and waste must not extend above its permitted fill level.
You must not:
- Overfill the skip.
- Allow dangerous materials to protrude from it.
- Move the skip after delivery without our permission.
- Light fires inside the skip.
- Place prohibited liquids or hazardous materials inside it.
An overloaded or unsafe skip may not be transported until the problem has been corrected.
Collection
You must ensure that the skip remains accessible on the agreed collection date.
Delivery and collection times may be affected by traffic, weather, road closures, vehicle availability, permits or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If collection cannot be completed because access has been blocked, the skip has been moved or circumstances at the property prevent safe collection, a further visit and additional charge may be required.
Wait & Load Service
Wait & Load is an alternative to leaving the skip at the property for a standard hire period.
The normal minimum skip charge, which is based on our standard 7-day hire, still applies.
A further £25 Wait & Load charge is added to that minimum charge.
With Wait & Load, our driver remains with the vehicle and the skip is removed during the same visit.
The customer has up to one hour from the agreed loading period to load the skip.
You must ensure that:
- The waste is ready when our driver arrives.
- There is safe and lawful space for the vehicle to wait.
- The loading process can be completed within the one-hour allowance.
- Only accepted or previously declared waste is loaded.
- The skip is not overloaded.
If loading cannot be completed within the agreed period, any additional service or arrangement will be subject to availability and any applicable additional charge.
Cancellations, Changes & Refunds
Our standard cancellation policy
Where you wish to cancel a booking under our normal commercial cancellation policy, we require at least 48 hours' notice before the scheduled service.
A cancellation made with less than 48 hours' notice may remain subject to the full booking charge.
Same-day cancellations are subject to the full booking charge.
Permit charges are non-refundable where the permit fee has already been incurred or the application has been submitted.
Consumer statutory rights
The above cancellation policy does not remove any statutory cancellation rights that apply to a consumer under applicable law.
Where you ask us to begin providing a service before the end of any statutory cancellation period, you may be required to pay for services already supplied or costs properly incurred. Where a service has been fully performed following the appropriate request and acknowledgement, statutory cancellation rights may cease where the law provides for this.
Changes to a booking
Changes to dates, skip sizes, placement or service type are subject to availability and may affect the price.
Cancellation by us
If we cannot provide a booked service for reasons that are not your fault, we will normally offer a reasonable alternative or refund payment for the service we are unable to provide.
Damage, Loss & Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful.
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
You are responsible for reasonable losses or additional costs caused by inaccurate instructions, prohibited waste, overloading, unsuitable access, lack of authority to use the placement area or other breaches of these terms.
We are not responsible for loss arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into.
Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with our service, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we can investigate.
Where a complaint concerns property damage, delivery or collection, photographs and supporting information may assist our investigation.
You can contact us at info@cubicwasteandskips.com or call 0800 001 6139 .
General
If one provision of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
Failure to enforce a term immediately does not mean we waive our right to enforce it later.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights a consumer may have under applicable UK law.
